Congratulations to former pupil, Imani Lansiquot, who has now added an Olympic medal to her growing collection, which you may remember consisted of European gold in Berlin in 2018 and World Championship silver in Doha in 2019.
Imani, 23, ran the second leg for Great Britain in the 4 x 100m relay, thus having the challenging responsibility of both taking and passing on the baton.
Interviewed immediately afterwards, the excited medallist said she was thrilled to win her first Olympic medal and felt like it was the beginning of something great. She thanked the team and put the success down to their special chemistry and the belief that they knew they would get the baton round and win a medal.
We certainly wish her well in her future national sprinting career. Good luck in Paris 2024 Imani!
